From  18th to  29th June

LGBTQ PRIDE FESTIVAL

WHAT
IS DUBLIN LGBT PRIDE FESTIVAL?

The Dublin LGBT Pride Festival is an annual series of events which celebrates lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) life in Dublin, Ireland. It is the largest LGBTQ pride festival in the Republic of Ireland. The event has grown from a one-day event in 1983 to a ten-day festival celebrating LGBT culture in Ireland with an expanded arts, social and cultural content.

The first pride parade was held in June, 1983. The parade was organized by the National Lesbian and Gay Federation, and followed a route through the city centre of Dublin, from St Stephen’s Green to the GPO on O’Connell Street.

The 2015 Dublin Pride Parade will be held on Saturday the 27th of June 2015. Assembly for the parade will start at 12 noon and the parade will begin moving through Dublin at 1:30pm sharp. It will start at the Garden of Remembrance at Parnell Square. From there it will head through Dublin and will finish at Merrion Square Park for our Pride Village.

Please note: it is illegal to drink on the streets during the parade.

PRIDEVILLAGEPRIDE VILLAGE

This year Pride Village will be bigger and better than ever! It is situated in and around Merrion Square, Dublin 2, you will have a full day of activities and entertainment for everyone to enjoy. As in previous years, we’ll have the opportunity to listen to our Grand Marshals as well as other guest speakers who have contributed to the LGBTQ community.

Pride Village will open at noon on Saturday 27th of June. Inside the park as well as the community zone and family area there will be entertainment from the always wonderful team at Hunt & Gather all day long. If you’re feeling under-dressed don’t worry, Sparkle Costumes will be on hand to help get you dressed up and show the world how fabulous you are.

It is covered. There will be food and refreshment stalls with something for everyone both inside and outside the park as well as seating areas to relax and enjoy your food. And if you want a souvenir, visit the official Dublin LGBTQ Pride merchandise shop.
If you are worried you’ll miss the action on main stage as you explore the village, don’t be because there will be 3 big screens and you won’t miss a minute!
