Meet our students…let’s talk with Andrea

13686755_10208091429796146_1460312214155936132_nHi Andrea, can you tell us something about yourself?

Yes…I’m Andrea, I’m from Livorno, in Italy and I’m 28 years old. I like meeting people, I’m really curious about other cultures and I decided to come in Ireland to improve my English and grow up from a personal and professional point of view: that’s why – after the travelling program – I’ve chosen to put myself on the line and currently I’m doing an internship in an Irish company.

Why did you choose Ireland?

I chose Ireland because I like Irish nature and there are many beautiful places to visit and to enjoy. Then I was curious about meeting Irish people and see how life is in the Emerald Isle!

Why did you choose Travelling Languages?

I choose Travelling Languages programme because I was looking for something that allows me to travel (and by travel I mean feeling free to discover and enjoy a holiday as well) and learn English at the same time.

Let’s talk about Southern & Western Ireland. Can you explain what is it exactly?

Southern & Western Ireland programme is a trip through Ireland where you can see the most attractive places and cities in Ireland. While I 13669084_10208100150134149_8757019085521804921_nwas following this programme, I saw Galway, the Cliffs of Moher, the National Park of Killarney, Dingle peninsula and much more! In the morning we had English lessons and in the afternoon we could put in practice what we learned. It has been challenging but really interesting!

What are the main differences that you noticed between your country and Ireland?

I realized that in Ireland there’s a huge attention about the environment. Everyone really cares about keeping the wilderness of nature. Then the weather is really different from Italy: you really live 4 different seasons in only one day. But I have to say that here in Ireland there is a lack of culture   about food and its quality sometimes is very low.

What do you like in Dublin and what you dislike?

13659085_10208100147054072_2450434699383925705_nIn Dublin there are lots of gardens. I like also that Dublin is a multicultural city, with people from all over the world with different culture and a different point of view. And I like the nightlife! I don’t like that much the organization of transport… for example after 11.30 pm there aren’t buses anymore and every time you have to take a taxi to go back home. The cost of life in general is higher than in Italy.

What’s your goal for the future?

First I would like to improve my English and then…who knows…maybe find a job here in Dublin!

So, thanks a lot Andrea and good luck for everything!
