Travelling Languages has a new home!

  • 16 July 2013

Travelling Languages, the only language school that, with its exclusive teaching method, combines traditional classroom tuitions with an outside social programme that ensures a total immersion while travelling around the chosen host country, has changed home.

As you all know, our base was situated within the former Guinness Factory walls in an environment that maximises the immersion in the local culture and life. It worked perfectly giving us the opportunity to teach in a non-traditional teaching environment that reflected our innovative total immersion method. However the premises were becoming too small and we could not have chosen a better place for our new premises.

Our new school and head office is now at 6 Clare Street, Dublin 2, in the house that used to be Samuel Beckett’s home and family office. He had accommodation on the top floor of which was his father’s chartered surveying business. His first novels and some of his later works were incubating here. It is in front of the National Gallery, just 50 meters from where Oscar Wilde’s birthplace is, where his monument ‘the fag on the crag’ is placed (across from his parents’ house). Travelling Languages could only be at the centre of Dublin and in an historical building. It could only be in an area full of history, culture and tourist interest.

These premises carry with them about 250 years of history in one of the oldest streets of Dublin. But don’t worry, we had them refurbished to have a very comfortable environment! 😉

Please have a look at our gallery of pictures to have a taste of where our students will study and have fun going forward.

All our classrooms feature comfortable chairs and pretty desks, a whiteboard and a 32” or 40” flat screen for all the audio, video and multimedia activities. A comfortable and relaxing common area is on the ground floor; an internet corner with PCs for our students is also available. Of course WI-FI is available for free throughout the building: it can be used with personal devices and with our tablets that we provide to each student! There is also an internal back garden where our students can enjoy the sunny days like the ones that sometimes Irish summer gladly offers us!

In order to celebrate Travelling Languages’ new home, we would like to remind you that our free week offer is valid for all the summer courses starting on 28th July, 11th and 25th August.

Dublin is only a passage point, where our students arrive and start immerging themselves in what is going to be one of the best and most effective ways to improve their English and learn about a new culture, in the same way these premises are step for most of the walking tours of Dublin.

Of course you are all welcome to visit us at any time that pleases you!
